Magdalena (Maggie) Goodmuth (‘22, Biology)

Maggie was the first volunteer researcher and lab member in the Neuroendocrine Ethology Lab. She is currently working at a ranger station doing conservation work with raptors near Reno, NV


Joseph ponticos (‘24, biology & biochemistry)

Joseph was a volunteer researcher and the first directed studies student in the lab. He helped to develop histology protocols and banding birds around campus.


Casey Greenberg (‘23, biology)

Casey assisted in the field and in the lab. She was instrumental in setting up the Tobiansky lab. She is currently doing a post-bac, with hopes of attending graduate school in 2024. The crocheted woodpecker to the left was created by Casey.



st. Mary’s Project students (senior thesis)

Jordan franz (‘22, neuroscience)

Jordan did her project on aggression and human perception of dog breed aggression. She was awarded “Excellence in a Literature-Based St. Mary's Project” for her senior thesis. She plans to work at a veterinary practice for a couple of years before applying to vet school.

melinda huynh (‘23, biology)

Melinda did her Saint Mary’s Project on aromatase expression in the Downy Woodpecker brain. She was awarded “Best Overall St. Mary's Project” for her senior thesis.
